COBRA Insurance Continuation
Overview:
Federal law mandates that certain employers offering group health plans must provide employees and their enrolled family members the option to extend health coverage if plan coverage is lost due to a qualifying event, such as the end of employment.
Wex serves as the COBRA Administrator for Veolia North America. Upon notification of a qualifying event, Wex will offer COBRA continuation coverage to all qualified beneficiaries.
Eligibility:
- Employees and their enrolled family members are eligible to elect extended health coverage if a qualifying event, including termination of employment, leads to a loss of plan coverage.
- Qualified beneficiaries have 60 days from the date of the status change event to elect to continue coverage.
